Orchestra seeking musicians

The Lake Country Orchestra is looking for volunteer musicians.

The orchestra, housed at the Lake Country Playhouse’s Select Theater, plays ten scheduled concerts a year. The group rehearses from 7 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday at the Broad Street Church of Christ Annex in Mineola.

 “Being a musician is an interest that can be enjoyed throughout one’s life,” conductor Lex Grantham noted. The director hoped that adults who enjoyed playing an instrument earlier in their lives would be willing to rediscover that talent. “The fact that a player has not performed for a number of years should not be considered a handicap to one's consideration in taking up an instrument at this time in life. The Lake Country Orchestra can help to provide an outlet for creativity,” Grantham said.
